Firearm Transfers

You must be a Legal Resident of the State of Florida with either A. A valid Florida Drivers License B. A valid Florida Identification Card.... This applies for Handgun Purchases or Transfers. If you are a resident of another US State and wish to transfer your personal firearms to the State of Florida, then you must obtain a Florida ID or Drivers License showing a Physical Address in Florida. Long Gun purchases or transfers do not have to have a Florida ID or DL but the purchase must be legal in your State of Residence.

At your request, CFFB will gladly handle Internet transfers and out of town transfers.

  1. Please contact CFFB by email or telephone 352-351-8171 to arrange for us to send  a signed copy of our Federal Firearms License (FFL) to the seller you purchased the firearm from. FFL's will be sent directly to the seller only. FFL's that are mailed will be sent standard US mail. (Please provide information on the Handgun that you are having transferred. Manufacturer, Caliber, Finish etc along with any identifying markings such as invoice or auction #'s to speed the process of identifying the firearms upon arrival.) This also aids the selling dealer in identifying the firearm and matching our FFL with your purchase. So any information that can be provided to aid or speed up the process will be greatly appreciated by both the selling dealer and the transfer dealer.
  2. Please make payment to the seller of the firearm including shipping by Next Day Air or Next Day Air Saver for all Firearms!!
  3. When the seller receives your payment and the signed copy of our FFL, the seller needs to ship the firearm(s) to CFFB using the address on the signed copy of the FFL sent to them.

    Please have your dealer write in ink their FFL # and set their fax to Super Fine. Otherwise it will result in an incomplete transmission and we will not be able to verify the authenticity of the FFL.

     

  4. When the firearm arrives, CFFB will notify you and set up an appointment to transfer the firearm (s) to you. CWP Permit and Florida Driver License are required. We will notify you via email or phone of directions and set up an appointment time for you to fill out the required paperwork.
  5. CFFB will complete the required state and federal documents and the required background check to complete the transfer.

CFFB will follow all state and federal laws. If you do not pass the background check you cannot take possession of the firearm. So be very certain that you can pass the background check.

TRANSFER PRICING:

CWP Holders $15.00 for inbound transfers. Price does not includes background fee of $5.00.

Non CWP Holders $45.00 for inbound transfers. Price includes background fee of $5.00

CFFB will provide packaging for firearms. CFFB will ship the firearm to the purchaser's FFL holder once the FFL has been received and verified. The customer is responsible for the actual shipping charges...

PRIVATE PARTY TRANSFERS*

If you are selling a firearm to a private individual it is always a good idea to have the background checked of the person you are selling it to. If the purchaser of your privately owned firearm has a CWP (Concealed Weapons License) then give us a call we will be happy to do the transfer for you alleviating the responsibility and worry. The cost for this service is $15.00 per firearm.

*Purchaser must have a Concealed Weapons License No Exceptions.
